NEWS ABOUT W.O. LIBRARY’S SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR 2013

WHITE OAK SCHOOL COMMUNITY LIBRARY WILL HOST ITS 2013 SUMMER READING CLUB AND STORY HOUR PROGRAM BEGINNING JUNE 12 AND CONTINUING UNTIL JULY 17.  THIS YEAR’S THEME IS
“DIG INTO READING.”  CHILDREN AGES 5 – 10 MAY REGISTER FOR THE READING CLUB BEGINNING MONDAY , JUNE 10 AT 2:00 p.m.

THE OPENING KICK-OFF CELEBRATION WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12 AT 10:30 A.M. WITH A
SPECIAL MAGIC SHOW PRESENTED BY TODD MCKINNEY PRODUCTIONS.   SPECIAL PERFORMANCES WILL BE SCHEDULED EACH WEEK THROUGH JULY 10, EXCLUDING JULY 3 WHICH WILL BE A CRAFT DAY FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE.   MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES WILL BE LIMITED SO    PLEASE SIGN UP BY JUNE 26.  ADMISSION IS FREE FOR ALL PERFORMANCES AND CRAFT DAY.

READING CLUB CERTIFICATES AND AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 17 FROM 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL DRAWING FOR 10  $25.00 GIFT CARDS TO TOYS R US.  ANY CHILD WHO PARTICIPATES IN THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM AND READS AT LEAST 10 BOOKS OR 350 PAGES WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE DRAWINGS.

THIS FREE SUMMER READING PROGRAM PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN TO READ FOR PLEASURE, MAINTAIN, AND IMPROVE READING SKILLS, AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO BECOME LIFETIME READERS.  THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM IS A FUN WAY TO ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO SPEND EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME READING BOOKS THEY WANT TO READ.
