2022 Lariat Reading List
The Texas Library Association has announced its 2022 Lariat Reading List for adults: The goal of the Lariat Adult Fiction Reading List is to highlight outstanding fiction that is “simply a pleasure to read.” To that end, a committee of librarians from the Texas Library Association annually selects 25 outstanding fiction titles (TLA Website).
The library has acquired a few of these titles, and they can be found in a small display when you first enter the library. If you click the link above (Lariat Reading List), you can read a short synopsis about each title.

Library Reveal!
Today is the day, and we are so excited to share photos with you of the updated library space! We have worked hard all summer long to create a space that works best for you. Come in soon and have a look around the space.
Latest Happenings at the Library
If you’ve been in the library lately, you may have noticed some changes happening. We have moved the sections around to make it easier for you to find exactly what you’re looking for. All adult fiction is against the back wall with young adult fiction in the cases that used to hold nonfiction. All nonfiction is now on the wall where fiction used to be, and it is separated by Dewey sections. Not sure what this is? No problem! We’re creating signs with each section and the topics found in that section. We’ve been working really hard this summer and can’t wait for you to see everything!

White Oak Community Library WILL REOPEN JUNE 22
White Oak School Community Library is pleased to announce that the library will reopen to the public effective June 22 at 1:00 pm. Adults visiting the library will be required to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building and practice social distancing while they select their books. Computer usage will be limited to adults only and social distancing will also be required there as well. Parents and children wishing to enter the children’s library will be asked to follow these guidelines: Only one family at a time will be allowed in the children’s library. Each family will have 10 minutes to select books. Staff will issue gloves to parents and ask them to select the books for their children. This will reduce the amount of touching of books and DVDs. Families waiting to enter the children’s library will be required to sit at tables in the main library until it is their turn to select books. Library staff will provide small activities at the tables to entertain children while they wait. Restrooms and water fountains will remain closed to the public. Our summer hours will be Mon- Thursday 1:00 – 6:30 pm. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at 903-291-2052. We look forward to serving the patrons of our community!
