ANOTHER GREAT YEAR AT WOISD !!!

Welcome back to all WOISD students, faculty, parents and community patrons.

We had a terrific summer!  Our childrens reading program was a great success with  70 children completing  the “Great Gumball Reading Challenge!”  In order to receive a certificate, each child had to read at least 10 books in a 7 week period.  We had many children read 50 or more books  with a grand total of 2630 books read!  That’s truly wonderful !!!!  We also had an average attendance of  120 at each of our special programs.  Mrs. Camp and I are so excited about this year’s participation and are already planning next years’ program!!

Now that the school year has begun,  students are racing to the library to checkout  “Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins.  “Hunger Games” will soon be coming out  as a movie and everyone wants to read the book first.

This summer we had many requests from the community for the book “The Help”  which was also made into a movie and is playing right now at all the local theaters.  As a librarian,  I usually think that the book is always better than the movie,  but in this case,  I think the movie does the book justice.

We are now back to our regular hours  M- Th  2:30 -7:30,  please stop by and check out the bestsellers and new book arrivals.  If we don’t have it,  we will be glad to get it for you through our inter library loan service.   Our inter library loan service runs twice a week from Dallas and we have been very successful in filling most patron’s requests.

If you have any other questions about our library and the services we provide  please call us at :  903-291-2052.
